In Kiryu-shi, Gunma

Hum, yeah. It's been hectic.
It's Wednesday now.
On Monday, I rode the KEISEI bus from Narita Airport to Kiryu.
It was cold and raining. And we didn't get the chance to buy any food. It was 9 when we got to the International House.
However, a nice family who lived below us offered to drive us to the nearest konbini.
Thank you so much.
Tuesday, we woke up and had to meet our supervisor, Saheki-sensei, in the morning. We signed some papers, got our student ID cards, got wi-fi (finally!), and met with two of the research groups.
We also borrowed some bikes from the university and went off to FRESSAY(supermarket).
It was sorely needed.
Uhm, yeah. Today we met with the remaining 3 research groups and decided amongst ourselves which one we wanted to be in. We also finally paid the administrative fee. Other than the extreme heat, I don't think I've had many issues so far. The other students who came with me did though. I feel so bad for them.
Gunma University didn't prepare us well enough. They could've sent us more information. But it's really nice here. The people are nice too!

Second update, I learned that I'm going to need to prepare all my foods by myself or go out and eat. Luckily there are three university eating areas, but as for cooking...I think I'm going to fail so badly at that...I gotta buy pots and pans and utensils and such! Huah! I need a long list!

Airplane Tickets!

I finally purchased my airplane tickets! They only gave us the information for time of arrival and time of departure yesterday after a long period of waiting. And there's going to be another meeting with my travel advisor and Japanese teacher on Monday so I hope I can get all my questions cleared up!

Testing, testing, 123.

Hello anyone reading this post. I'm a current undergraduate at a university in America. And I just got accepted to study abroad in the summer in Gunma University in Japan! This, combined with finals, makes for very mixed feelings. Anyhow, I'll most likely be blogging semi-daily in the days prior, during, and a short time after I come back. I couldn't find any English bloggers who went to Gunma to study (although I read a ton from other Japanese Universities), so I guess I'll be going in half blind! Huzzah!
